Samson Switchblade Carbon Fiber Flying Car Debuts Transforming Tail

With the push of a button, the tail of the Samson Switchblade, a carbon fiber flying car, transforms from driving to flying mode in only two minutes. The Switchblade is a three-wheel, street legal vehicle that can be driven from home to a nearby local airport. Once at the airport, the wings swing out and the tail extends in under three minutes. As a registered aircraft, the Switchblade can then be flown at up to 200 mph and 13,000 feet. Once the Switchblade lands, it’s simply transformed back to driving mode – the wings safely stowed and “The folding tail creates an image like the Transformers, the Batmobile, and James Bond all rolled into one”, claims Sam Bousfield, designer of the Switchblade flying sports car. “When we saw it live for the first time, the visual impact was absolutely stunning.”
